My “Have A Happy Holiday” To-Do List!

I’m determined to make this the best holiday I’ve ever experienced. In fact, that’s my goal each Christmas.  I want to make the present holiday better than the previous one.  Here are five things I plan to do to make this holiday season both special and memorable.

My “Have A Happy Holiday” To-Do List

  1. Bake

Oh yes…you heard it here first! I’m actually going to attempt to bake a holiday treat from scratch. My inspiration… any television holiday baking competition. I’m obsessed with watching cooking shows.  I’m a pretty good cook, but I’ve never tried to bake. I’m excited about trying something new and maybe even creating a new tradition.  I’m not sure what I’m going to make, but I’ll be sure to post a picture.

  1. Decorate

I always decorate my home, but I rarely decorate my office space. This year, I’m going to put up a few simple decorations.  Hopefully, these decorations will help to remind me how grateful I am to work at such a special place.  I also hope these decorations will bring a bit of holiday cheer to the people I come in contact with at work.  Seeing my decorations might help someone’s work day go a little better than usual.

  1. Listen To Holiday Music

Music is a great way to set the tone for the holidays. I have several favorites, but this year I’m excited about Fantasia’s new release Christmas After Midnight. I can’t stop listening to this album. My favorite song has to be Baby It’s Cold Outside featuring CeeLo Green.  If you want to get in the holiday spirit, please check out this album. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

  1. Watch Holiday Movies

Okay, my favorite holiday movie is The Holiday.  I watch it at least 10 times during the Christmas season. It’s a sweet holiday love story.  This movie makes me believe in love.  I get inspired every time I watch it. It inspires me to believe in myself. It’s an entertaining reminder for me to only accept out of a relationship what I know I deserve. You never know. Love just might come find me this holiday.  Wouldn’t that be something!

  1. Look At Outdoor Decorations

When I was a little girl, my father would take the family out to look at decorations.  We would ride around the city and look at the brightly lit homes. This year I’m going to put a new spin on an old tradition. I’m going to do what I’m calling a “holiday light walk”.  I’m going to get out of my car and walk around a beautifully decorated neighborhood and enjoy the scenery. I’ve never done this before, and I’m really looking forward to it.  The thought of the combination of fresh air and bright lights brings a smile to my face. I’m sure the actual experience will do the same.

No bah humbug here!  I’m going to purposely make this a great Christmas.  I want to encourage you to do the same. Fill your time doing things that will bring joy to your holiday.  And as always, let’s press on together!
