“Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above…” John 19 :10- 11a
This is such an amazing scripture because it reinforces God’s omnipotence.
It’s unfortunate that sometimes people might parade themselves as lord over your life- as if it is up to them whether or not you are successful, or whether or not you accomplish your goals. Sometimes people might deliberately try to set you up to fail, or speak evil words against you that might cause you to miss an opportunity. These people might be family members, friends, or even people on your job. The truth of the matter is that it doesn’t matter who they are. The good news is that they don’t have any power over you. They only have the authority God wants them to have. In these situations, God uses these types of people to push you down so that He can raise you up.
Be encouraged. God will always have the last say. If you ever find out that people are working against you, don’t give them any glory. Don’t pay them any attention. They are a part of God’s plan for your life. In these instances, remember you are being set up for a come up. Always keep Romans 8:28 in your heart. And as always, let’s press on together!
