I’ve Got the Victory…Not Depression!

victory

To know me is to know that I am extremely optimistic.  I try to find the good in every situation.  Even still, I have doubts about the outcome of various circumstances.  I am dealing with a few struggles right now and I’m not sure how I am going to make it out. And yes, I even question God, “why?” It’s in these times of doubt that I have to remind myself I have the victory.  No matter what it looks like with my natural eye, I continue to encourage myself with the Word of God. The Word of God always has an answer to whatever it is we are going through. I might feel defeated sometimes, but after I encourage myself with scripture, I gain strength in my faith. Two scriptures that inspire victory are found in Paul’s letters to the Corinthians. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 15:57) And, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…” (II Corinthians 2:14) Isn’t it good to know that we can’t lose?  That even when it appears that we are failing, we can be reminded that, “…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. (Romans 8:28) And that we can be “confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6) Write these scriptures down. Place them around your house, in your office and/or in your car.  Make sure you are consistently reminded that you have victory.

In addition to writing down scriptures about victory, it is also a good idea to listen to songs with the message of victory.  I have put together a playlist on Spotify I know you will enjoy. After you click the link, you will need to register for free to listen if you don’t already have a Spotify account. These are the songs I listen to when I’m feeling defeated. Do you know any other songs with a theme of victory?  If so, please share them.  Let’s attempt to look at life through the lenses of victory, and as always, let’s press on together!
